Manager, Marketing and Communications (Contract)
HCBC is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Manager, Marketing and Communications for a 10-month contract.

Horse Council BC (HCBC) is a membership-driven not-for-profit association representing the interests of the equine industry across British Columbia. Tradition, strong values, and the dedication of our volunteers have made HCBC the largest and most successful multi-discipline, multi-breed equine association in Canada.
HCBC is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Manager, Marketing and Communications for a 10-month contract. This full-time role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing marketing and communication strategies for all HCBC programs and services. The position oversees public relations, media engagement, and brand reputation initiatives, while providing strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and senior leadership. The Manager also supervises staff and supports board functions, including meeting facilitation and procedural adherence.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building relationships, and has a passion for community engagement and strategic communications. The successful candidate will lead projects that enhance HCBC’s visibility, strengthen member engagement, and promote equestrian sport and recreation throughout BC.
Location: This is a hybrid position based in Aldergrove/Langley, BC. However, HCBC will consider a fully remote arrangement within British Columbia for the right individual.
Applicants should have:
- A university degree or college diploma in business, communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing and communications across diverse delivery areas.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing projects and providing strategic communications advice.
- Strong leadership, relationship-building, and digital media skills.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and access to private transportation.
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
Salary Range: $65,463.17 – $73,769.96
